These ducts are designed to smoothly transition from a rectangular duct to another dimension of duct with flat top or bottom, allowing for efficient airflow distribution. Their doublewall construction enhances insulation and minimizes heat loss or gain, making them energy-efficient. Most doublewall fittings from Sheet Metal Connectors are fabricated with Pittsburgh seams and all — including top and bottom side flat transition — are completely assembled with all accessories installed.
Rectangular Doublewall Top or Bottom Side Flat Transition are constructed with TDC end treatments. There are two different types of applications:
- Acoustical double wall duct for noise control
- Thermal double wall duct for temperature control
